Selection for the proposed International with Belgium, Germany, Holland etc (Interland 2010) to be held in NE Belgium on 7th March 2010 will be based on the following events;
Regional Events;
- South Central (SOC) Sunday 1st November 2009
-East Midlands (DVO) Sunday 15th November 2009
National Event;
- West Midlands (WCH) Sunday 13th December 2009
and all known form up until the end of 2009.
It is anticipated that juniors wishing to be considered for selection will compete in 2 of the 3 races listed.
In keeping with the objectives of the England Selectors to use this competition to provide experience, it is unlikely that the Junior Selectors will consider members of the Great Britain Junior Performance Squad for selection, but will consider members of the Great Britain Start Squad.
It is likely that the composition of the Junior team will be 3 M/W14, 3 M/W16 and 1 M/W18.
It is unlikely that the selectors will consider juniors in ‘bottom year’ M/W14 ie born in 1997.
At all events Juniors should run the course corresponding to their age class in 2010.
For Regional events juniors will be expected to run the following ‘colour coded’ courses;
M14/W14 – Light Green
W16 – Green
M16 – Blue
W18 – Short Blue
M18 – Short Brown
At the National Event Juniors should run their 2010 age class.
England Junior Selectors

Classes M/W40 –M/W65 will be selected considering the results of these events:
SOC: 1st Nov: November Classic
DVO: 15th Nov: Eyam
WCH: 13th Dec: Cannock Chase
plus BOC2009 and JK2009
Those wishing to be considered should compete in at least one of the three autumn selection events. Very good results in two or three of these events will lead to selection; competitors who do not have such results will be judged on the basis of BOC2009 and JK2009 as well as their autumn results.
Orienteers who change age-class in 2010 may be chosen for their new age-class if the selectors are aware of the change, and if their results in their 2009 age-class are strong enough.
When events use Colour-coded courses, competitors are requested to run as follows:
Brown: M40
Short Brown: M45, M50
Blue Men: M55, M60
Blue Women: W40
(All three classes run Blue, if the course is not split)
Short Blue: M65 W45, W50
Green: W55, W60
Short Green: W65
Vets who elect to run a longer course will have their results considered on a mins/k basis.
England Vets Selectors: Jackie Hallett (BOK), Tim Tett (SYO), Andy Hemsted (HOC, Chair).
