Amendment to the Interland 2012 Junior Selection Policy

In view of the change in status to the proposed Selection race at Blidworth on 22nd January 2012, the England Junior Selectors have replaced that event with the Level B event at Chesterfield on 5th February 2012 organised by SYO.

Consequently the selection races for Interland 2012 will now be;

Regional Events;

- Yorkshire (EBOR) Sunday 9th October 2011
- South Central (SOC) Sunday 6th November 2011
- Yorkshire (SYO) Sunday 5th February 2012

It is anticipated that juniors wishing to be considered for selection will successfully complete 2 of the 3 races listed.

Addendum to Vets Policy for Interland 2012‏

November Classic:

The event entry information states ‘Competitors wishing to be considered by England Orienteering for team selection should follow the advice provided on the England Orienteering website’

In particular, this means that M45 and M50 should run Short Brown if they wish to have their results considered, and not the Long Blue.

Interland 2012

Interland 2012 is to be held on 22nd April in southern Belgium at Habay-La-Neuve – one of the best forests for orienteering in the Ardennes and previously a World Cup venue. The Fédération Régionale des Sports d’Orientation (FRSO) www.frso.be are the hosts.

In its only match outside the British Isles, England competes against two Belgian teams (Flemish and French speaking), the Netherlands, the Nordrhein-Westfalische (NW Germany) and the French Ligue Nord–Pas de Calais de course d’orientation (LNPCCO). The competition is thus a six-cornered match and is truly a team effort spanning age groups from W and M14 to W and M60+: a team of 42.
