England Team Manager’s Report
Summary
This year the Ward Junior Home International was hosted at Stirling by the Scottish Orienteering Association. Bill Stevenson organised an excellent weekend that included the opportunity to run at the Park World Tour Race in Perth.
The England team was as originally selected.
Thomas Fellbaum and Charlotte Watson acted as team captains for the weekend.
England retained the relay trophy in a closely fought race on Saturday morning and also won the individual trophy with a larger points margin on Sunday.
Accommodation
Accommodation for all teams was at Stirling Youth Hostel. Sleeping accommodation was in dormitories accommodating four to six team members. All meals were provided by the Scottish Orienteering Association.
Travelling
Team members travelled to the event by minibus, car, train and plane.
Prize Giving & Social
This was held at Allen Park South Church Hall along with a ceilidh.
Day 1 Relay
Kinnoull
All eight English teams performed very well on the day with the men’s teams finishing second, third, fourth and seventh with the women finishing first, third, fifth and tenth. The first two team from each country count towards the team results with points decreasing from 16 to 2 in increments of 2.

Devilla
The results for the day are attached to this report. England won four of the age categories, Alistair Thornton M14, Rachel Emmerson W14, Lucy Butt W16 and Charlotte Watson W18. The area used was physically tough and a difficult challenge at the end of the weekend. The first two athletes from each country count in this part of the competition with points being allocated from 8 to the winner down to 1 for the eighth placed athlete.
